Flannel BB Shirt

_________________________________________________
This baseball shirt jacket is made from flannel material woven with 20/1 cotton yarn and 2/60 wool.
Flannel, a brushed material with a high wool content, has a structure that traps air within the fabric, giving it insulating properties, so it was also used in baseball uniforms as a cold-weather material.
To create the atmosphere of that era, the wool was steamed for over eight hours to take advantage of the difference in shrinkage to create the unevenness of the surface.
The design is inspired by the stand-collar uniforms that were popular around 1915, with shoulder width and armholes designed to make it easy to wear as both a shirt and a jacket.

"Jack man"
This is a factory brand originating in Fukui Prefecture that inherits the spirit of Tanabe Mitsugu, the founder of Tanabe Meriyasu.
After the war, he quit his job and founded a factory, where he became an idea man and created new technologies one after another. "Jack" means " home run" or "hit high, " and it comes from American baseball, which the founder admired.
