BABY CASH is made using only the carefully selected downy hair of white cashmere kids aged 6 to 8 months.
Without this downy hair, goats would freeze to death in winter, when temperatures can drop to minus 30°C, so it is not possible to harvest hair from goat kids born in the summer. Goat kids born in late autumn that survive the harsh winter naturally lose their downy hair around May, but nomads harvest them by hand with scissors, which is inefficient, and only about 40 grams of downy hair can be obtained from one goat.
The fibers are noticeably thinner than regular cashmere, at around 13 to 14 microns, giving them a soft feel, and they are characterized by a clear whiteness with almost no black hair mixed in.
