What is Porter Classic?

Yoshida Katsuyuki, who created many masterpieces at Yoshida & Co., Ltd. and was the first Japanese to become a member of the New York Designers Collective, and his son Yoshida Reo Porter Classic was founded in 2007.

While focusing on "Made in Japan" products, we also offer traditional Japanese clothing techniques such as sashiko and karate uniforms. By mixing with the fashion cultures of America, Europe, and Asia, we have expressed a "global standard."

The word "classic" that they added to the brand name means something classic and universal.

We aim to "create products that can be passed down through three generations" that will still look stylish even after 30 years of wear , so we think about what makes something look good whether it's worn by a father, a son, or a grandson, and what materials will last. In that case, we strive to create products that are loved, with good materials, solid construction, and timeless style.

The "PC KENDO" series is one of Porter Classic's icons.

We asked a craftsman who weaves uniforms for substitute kendo instructors to use fabric woven from the finest Sea Island cotton.
The fabric changes over time, and like denim, it develops a crease and pilling. The stiff fabric gradually softens and conforms to your body, making it a truly special piece.
